All 3D renders and animations.
Senior Thesis // Spring 2025
“Medusa and the Pilot” is a short animated trailer for a hypothetical film and was produced as a senior thesis project by a team of seven students, including myself. I acted as the primary foliage artist on the team, and was responsible for modeling and texturing a variety of medium and small bushes and weeds, as well as grasses, groundcovers, and vines.
Above is an arrangement of some of the assets I created for the project: lit, unlit, unlit wireframe, and lit with post-processing, rendered in Unreal Engine 5.

All 3D artists were involved in set dressing for a specific set. I was tasked primarily with dressing the garden set, which is shown above.
“Ponyo” Foliage Study // Summer 2025
A brief 3D study of some of the traditional 2D environment pieces in Studio Ghibli’s Ponyo. The goal of this study was to adapt a loose, stylized, expressive pencil-on-paper style into 3D.

All modeling was done in Maya, and all textures were digitally hand-painted in Krita. Scene assembly and post-processing was done in Unreal Engine 5.
Texturing Sample // Spring 2025
A texturing assignment based on our professor’s past experience with art tests. All students were given the same starting scene file and were responsible for UVing all models, texturing, and lighting. Visual style was left to the student. Not responsible for models or composition.

Textures hand-painted in Krita. Turntables rendered in UE5. Beauty and albedo renders rendered in Maya using Arnold.
Procedural Plant Diorama // Winter 2024
Plant diorama made in Houdini using procedural techniques.
All plants and mushrooms were procedurally modeled and placed in Houdini. Bushes were created using the SideFX Labs Tree Generator, and the pink mushroom was created using a growth simulation. Particles and rendering also done in Houdini.
Realistic Lighting & Surfacing // Fall 2024
A mock product shoot assignment recreating an existing reference image and product.

Modeled in maya. Surfaced and rendered using V-Ray.
Interiors with day and night lighting schemes assembled in Maya using assets from the Chaos Cosmos Library, then rendered using custom AOVs with V-Ray.

Custom lighting passes were rendered into EXRs, then composited into final beauty renders in Nuke. Not responsible for creating any assets; all assets were downloaded from the Cosmos Library.
Mountain Teahouse // Summer 2023
A personal project experimenting with taking some concept sketches of a mountain-sized bonsai, featuring a teahouse, into UE5.

Low-poly block-in models were modeled in Maya, then imported into UE5. The scene itself was constructed in 2023, but I recently opened it back up to see what it would look like with a post-processing material I was working on applied to it. Concept art was drawn in Krita.
Turntable of plants rendered in UE5.
Older Works
All modeling and rendering done in Maya.

Not mine: laptop, jar of pens, tall shelving unit, desk, books, polaroid camera.
